An Essay
The general public outlook
on the practice and lifestyle of those who practice
acts of Sadomasochism (S/M) and Bondage and Discipline (B/D) and
Dominance and
Submission (D/s) is not always wonderful.
Unfortunately, as in any other practice, there are
always 'bad apples' that the
media and public tend to grab a hold of, such as movies, murderers, and those
who don't
practice this craft in a safe manner. These stories and events are
thrown all over the internet, news, and newspapers
and the positive, responsible
practioners are condemned.
I do see some of this changing, due to the look and
clothing of what we do
(leather, corsets, boots, etc) becoming more visually mainstream over the years.
Just remember,
because you can 'look' like a Dominatrix doesn't mean you can be
or are one. And then again...one can be an amazing Dominant
Female in jeans and
a t-shirt. Domination is in the Heart; the look we've been tagged with and the
'whips and chains'
are extras not necessary but enjoyed on an individual basis.
This is a serious practice, one that has many rewards.
It is not a glamourous
world, it is a hard working one both in the professional and personal worlds.
It's also not
easy. There is a lot to learn in order to execute activities
safely and positively. Indulgents like Myself search for
something more,
something deep and fulfilling on a spiritual level....and the good ones find
ultimate bliss. It's
not a weekend activity for practioners like Myself and many
other lifestyle (those who live the lifestyle personally).
Many professional
Dominants are also lifestyle players. This means that we also live the lifestyle
daily as well
as welcome our clients into our World. I am both.
A little about BDSM:
The physical activities of BDSM/D/s
produce physical body endorphins. This is
like a 'high'. Think of it as what's called in the athletic world a 'runner's
high'. In parenthesis I have put what a basic BDSM scene should have. You start
your exercise routine (warm-up) progress
to the mid level (build-up) you get
closer to the wall and hopefully overcome it (getting over the hump) then you
slowly cool down and end (winding down the scene) Then aftercare, drinking water
and resting (taking psychological
and physical care of your partner)
General BDSM VS Sexual BDSM:
These are completely 2 different areas.
The great thing about BDSM is that is
doesn't have to be physicaly sexual (intercourse, etc) but IT is generally
sexual
because it produces eroticism of the mind. It's what we call 'mindfuck'.
I'm sure you've heard over the years Doctors,
Advice Columnists, the general
public... saying 'sex is in your head, not necessarily in the body'. They are
correct.
Now, don't get Me wrong, I love sex, but look at BDSM as just another
style of sex. Some like to be sexual, some do not
but still gain the amazing
personal satisfaction. There's many styles of intimacy: Tantra, Spiritual,
Worship, Religious,
etc.....where people become connected with their intimate
partners. Just because you like chocolate and I like vanilla
doesn't mean any of
us are wrong, just different.
Concerning Tolerance:
I'll be honest here. I
don't want to be 'tolerated'. I do not want to be 'agreed
with', nor try and persuade you that My way of practicing intimacy
is better. If
I get to spank you, you will not get a free toaster. I command respect, not
demand it.
Myself
as well as the positive practioners I know who enrich the world of our
knowledge and give our particular style of intimacy
a good name is good enough
for Me.
Personally. I like being an outcast and deviant. It's way too much fun!

DomCon Atlanta 2009hi all Ladies and males,
Upon some soul searching, I have decided that not only would it be in My best
economic
interest but also for My honour and will, I will not be attending
DomCon Atlanta this year.
I feel that as
a whole our professional society has gotten so encompassing
within themselves, and have lost the idea of Sisterhood and
Womanly support, and
I have been disappointed by it.
I will give concrete examples:
When a Sister
of our profession is in need, I always try to answer. I have sent
money, made posts, calls, etc. I was in need and got
3 answers from fellow
Sisters (one followed up, one didn't, and the other I need to contact) and one
male. I think
when a Sister is in a hard time we all need to be there and be
proud of who we are. Hey, help if you can...if you can't....even
a nice note
would be support. It helps.
I wrote over a year ago on Max Fisch about 'So Called Sisterhood'
It would be in
My archives on My board, www.maxfisch.com and go from there.. and it seems to
still be true to this day.
I received 2 phone calls for support, one
from Mistress Cyan and one from Lady
Ahyla. I needed to talk. These 2 Women I consider amazing Sisters. You know who
the rest of you are mentioned above.
This makes Me think...why do I want to go to an event where Sisterhood
seems to
be such a facade? Why do I want to spend My hard earned dollars to 'schmooze'
with people who wouldn't
give Me the time of day anyway? Duh. I could buy My
son another new bike for that.
Now, not that this is a
bitchfest, but hey Ladies, this is reality. I know it's
a dog eat dog world out there. We're in tough times right now
concerning money,
etc. but hey, I'm disappointed in the friendship and reliability I thought I
had in fellow professionals.
I can state My opinion as each of you can as well.
Hey, it's ok if you need to be under the ropes and can't speak
up or need to be
incognito. I understand. Just remember, that those of us who stick our necks out
on the line are
doing it for ALL of us.
The B & B and Studio is doing GREAT. I have been working on the
house,
doing some painting, and of course lots of cooking. My tomatoes are
coming in very slow this year because all of the
rain, so those of you who
ordered My ass kickin pizza and pasta sauce will have to wait a bit longer. Now
worry,
it's worth it. :)
